Russia’s only real enemy – The Kremlin

Is there something in the water of the Moscow river ? Whoever sits in the Kremlin constantly makes catastrophic misjudgements about what happens beyond Russia’s borders and its understanding of their motivations.

Is this because the Kremlin spends so much energy enslaving the Russian people that it imagines everybody else will just roll over and do as they expect ? An endless line of Yes men ( “Da, Chuvak”) who keep lying up and kicking down

There may be more before, but it started with the 19th Century Crimean war, picking a fight with the largest military powers in the world

Then there was the disastrous war with Japan. Six months sailing a fleet around most of the world to find it defeated by a country which a decade before had no navy – Japan

The utter incompetence – and even more utter contempt for the lives of Russians was rounded off by the Czar in World War One.

As if to prove that utter stupidity was only something the Czars did, then Lenin attacked Poland having given away Russia’s eastern defences, and the Red Army got an enormous kicking. That surrender to – for that is what it was n- to the Kaiser’s Germany being justified on the certainty that the Worker’s Paradise would soon remove all borders. Again, wrong in every way.

Most grotesquely was Stalin’s “trust” of Nazi Germany. He was a truly odious man, even by USSR standards, but nobody seems to have come to terms with how profoundly thick he was. Thicker than his own Georgian moustache. He knew that Hitler hated him and had him in his sights. Yet without Stalin Germany could never have developed its tank tactics which allowed Germany to scythe its way through Poland and then the rest of Europe. They literally brought the German army to the heart of Russia and allowed them to design and build their tanks and test their tactics on Russia soil. “Oh, if you plan to kill my children please come to my house before and see where they sleep at your convenience”

Not happy to simply training the Nazis, they actually invaded Poland with them. Instead of having a buffer between them and Hitler, that is Poland, they allowed the Nazis to come right up to Russia’s border. The very night before Hitler invaded Russia, Stalin was sending trains loaded with oil to the border for Nazi tanks

Not for the first – or last – time do we wonder if Kremlin leaders are actually foreign spies, so dangerous are their actions for Russia. But they are not. They are just astonishingly stupid.

And just in case there might be enough brainpower in the Russian army to engage and defeat Hitler, the Georgian killed off – literally – any talent he found
